Magnetostrictive properties of Co-Fe alloy epitaxial thin films with Co-rich composition

Co 75 Fe 25 (at. %) alloy films of 100 nm thickness are prepared on MgO(001) and (110) single-crystal substrates. A (001) bcc film is epitaxially grown the substrate, whereas a (211) bi-crystalline formed MgO(110) substrate. The out-of-plane in-plane lattice spacings in agreement with bulk values within small differences less than 1%. orientation dispersions smaller 2°. These results show that well-defined epitaxial consisting single phase successfully obtained both magnetic anisotropies single- confirmed to be reflecting magnetocrystalline anisotropy crystal easy <111> hard <100> axes demagnetization field. magnetostriction coefficients, ( λ , 111 ), determined (+60×10 –6 +150×10 ) (+55×10 +185×10 respectively. present study has shown Co-Fe Co-rich composition positive moderately-large fairly-large values.
